I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the Battery widget in iOS is supposed to do? When I add it to my widgets it doesn't show up in the widgets screen, even though it's in the list of added widgets.

That's very strange. I don't see the option for a Battery widget on either my iPhone or my iPad Air 2, running the latest software.

Sorry, it's actually called Batteries. See screen capture.

I think I found the answer. This widget reports the status of certain devices that are paired to your phone. If there aren't any paired then it doesn't show up. I don't have any.
That's correct. I use an Apple Watch and the widget is displayed. If I disconnect the link from the watch to the phone, the widget disappears.

You'd have the same widget if you had an Apple Pencil connected to an iPad Pro or were using a Bluetooth headset.

Thanks for clarifying that. :)
