This article makes interesting reading, particularly the comment by el-John-o

In a nutshell, why go out of your way to “protect” a commodity when the benefit to you is zero. Use the full capacity of your phone battery, with a clear conscience and the knowledge that wrapping it in cotton wool would have marginal benefits, at best.

I use a wireless charging pad on mine and they only seem to come at 15w anyway. i have noted the battery seems to last longer compared to using the 20w fast charger, maybe i imagined it but doesnt seem as low on a night. Speaking of batteries, people always seem to sell their phone before changing a battery, i wondered can one actually get an official battery replacement these days and what the cost would be?, i guess id probably wait till the battery was only showing around 60% then think about a new battery.

Here’s the Apple page on battery replacement.

I have an iPhone 15 Pro and the battery is still pretty good at the moment (around 90%), but I found after getting iOS26 (including beta updates) that the battery charge was dropping much quicker, although the usage was about the same.
Looking at the battery usage details, it was telling me that it was the ‘always on’ lock screen causing quite a large percentage of the battery drain. Now, I have an Apple Watch Ultra 3, and that gives me all the notifications etc. that my phone gives, and since I usually keep my iPhone either in my pocket, or on a side table, keeping the lock screen on made no sense.
Since turning the ‘always on’ lock screen off I’ve literally increased the battery life by around a third………..so if it’s not needed, it makes sense to turn it off!
