Backing up to new device

my iCloud was full and I bought more storage. I backed up my 13. Well I thought I did it says never.

I what did I do….put my info on my 16. It says it can’t be backed up! I’m not sure if I need to back up my 13 and my 16 idk.

I just want everything over before I trade.

Did you use Quick Start to transfer your data to the new phone? It can be done without a backup on the original phone, but you cannot use either device during transfer. You should ideally back up your new iPhone once it is ready.

Did you get this resolved? BTW even when you don't have enough storage Apple lets you do a backup of your phone without having to buy extra storage. Though it sounds to me like you didn't do a proper backup is the old phone in your possession?

I finally called tech support. They checked my cloud and we saw two years of photos not backed up. That is terrifying as a Mama. I didnt select sync but I this message in the morning because I did it before bed.

Have you toggled Photos ON in your iCloud settings?

I thought I had backed up my 13 PM and then I set up my 16. I looked at my 13 and it said never! I did back up again but now I have two back ups one for the 13 and one for the 16. Idk what to do!

Factory reset the 16 and make a backup after that on the 13 so you can use latest on 16

Oh goodness! Maybe that’s what I did!

Yeah I guess not because it said never backed up! I’m still working on it! So apparently I didn’t have sync selected and it didn’t but looks like it is now but I have two different back ups!
