Automatic Subscription to thread replies?

Is there a way to disable "automatic" subscriptions when I reply to a thread? I simply replied to a couple of threads and now whenever anyone replies in that thread, I get an email that someone replied to a thread that I subscribed to... yet I didn't subscribe to any threads..

any help would be appreciated.

The way I do it is go to your subscriptions,swipe to the right on the one you want to remove,then delete it.There must be an easier way I'm sure

You can turn that off in your user CP.

Scroll to the bottom of the email notification
Click on the unsubscribe address under Unsubscription Information
