As reported by Bloomberg last week, Apple is planning a major iTunes makeover. One very important step in this direction seems to be a focus on better iCloud integration and sharing.

The Bloomberg sources say that Apple is hard at work in the file management and sharing sector. It makes sense if we think of the huge amount of information stored in iTunes, iBook and App Stores. Apple is also trying to introduce more photos and music. The company is looking to implement a functionality that will allow a user to listen to a song that was sent by another.

“Apple will unveil the changes by year’s end, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans aren’t public. The company will more closely integrate its iCloud file- storage service with iTunes so users can more seamlessly access and manage their music, videos and downloaded software apps across different Apple gadgets, the people said. Apple also plans new features for sharing music, the people said.”

Sharing will be an important part of the new version of iTunes especially since Apple has to keep up with increasingly popular music services like Spotify that allows users to share music among them.

Also according to another insider source, music labels have been in the talks with Apple for the creation of a similar subscription based service for some time now.
