According to a new report from a very well respected and usually spot-on analyst, Apple is to launch the much-rumoured 4-inch iPhone 5se and iPad Air 3 in the first half of this year.
In a note to investors on Sunday, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote that Apple will release a 4-inch iPhone that is designed to take over from the soon-to-depart but still very popular iPhone 5s. This new phone will be very similar, but will have updated specs, such as a 12-megapixel camera, as well as the curved iPhone-6s-type “2.5D” glass cover.
Kuo is not very enthusiastic about the prospects for this new phone, saying that he thinks demand for it will not be that strong due to the fact that it presents very little in terms of innovation.
Kuo has less to say about the iPad Air 3 and iPhone 7, other than that the former will also be released in the first half of this year, and that as far as the latter is concerned, he doesn’t think there will be many surprises in terms of iPhone 7 technical innovation, other than what he has already stated in previous notes to investors about the phone.
