AppleInsider reports today that according to Chinese web site Sina.com, as discovered by Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White, one of Apples battery suppliers is having problems providing batteries for the next iPhone that are of the required standard. White says that as the situation stands at the moment , only 30% of battery volumes are up to Apples standards. Apparently the unnamed battery maker is working hard to make up the shortfall, as the launch date of the next iPhone looms. In fact, White says that it may be even sooner than the expected September or October, with another web site, ifeng.com, saying that Apple could be ready to launch the next iPhone at the end of August. Whites own opinion, however, is that Apple will still not be launching the phone until September. If there is a battery challenge, we trust that Apple will be able to figure it out in time for a September launch, wrote White in a note to investors today.
