According to a new report in the Chinese-language Economic Daily News, via MacRumors, Apple has awarded Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) a contract to exclusively manufacture the forthcoming A11 processor for the 2017 iPhone 8. This means that the company will have successfully extended its exclusive contract to supply Apple with the A10 chip for the forthcoming iPhone 7, shutting Samsung out once again.

The report says that the A11 chip will be manufactured by TSMC on a 10nm FinFET process.

TSMC joint CEO Mark Liu recently told an investors meeting that the company’s first 10nm customer product had resulted in a “satisfactory yield” and three products had now been “tapped out,” meaning that the first chip design template has been produce in order to make the masks from which the chips themselves will be built.

TSMC began the taping out process for Apple's A11 processor in May.

Very good. I disliked Samsung because they always badmouthing Apple on the TV commercial. I haven't seen Apple badmouthing Samsung on the TV commercial. Samsung needs to shut up and go away.
