The holiday season is breathing down our necks and companies know about it – including Apple who has a special present for its loyal fanbase. As of this week, the limitation imposed on shoppers waiting to grab an iPhone 5 has been lifted. The restriction is that each customer was able to purchase only 2 devices per shipping. More than that, the company imposed another restriction limiting individuals to 10 device purchases per life time. This is no longer the case.

These measures were taken as soon as the fifth-generation iPhone was launched, because the supply chain wasn’t able to cope with the massive demand. In the meantime, shipping times for the iPhone 5 have been improved dramatically since the device became available for sale. Customers ordering on recent dates have been receiving their gadgets in 2-4 business days. Another reason why Apple didn’t approve of customers buying in bulk was that such transactions were probably related to re-selling activities. People in countries where the iPhone has already become available could be tempted to buy a lot of items and then go on and sell them in countries were the device has not been launched yet.

The information seems to be valid as several curious parties attempted to purchase more than two iPhone 5s at a time and succeeded in the endeavor. Customers can now buy the 16Gb model for $649 alongside the 32GB version for $749 plus the 64GB one that comes at $849 – all in one shot. Even if Cupertino has decided to lift restrictions concerning the iPhone 5, the 2/per shipment constraint still applies to the iPad mini.
