While this is hardly a real confirmation, two separate analysts in the mobile supply chain world are reporting they believe that Apple will launch their next iPhone in the middle of next year, and it won't be the iPhone 7. According to separate reports from Weibo network by IHS Technology Research Director Kevin Wang and Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, Apple will likely launch a new 4-inch iPhone 6c in the middle of 2016.
Furthermore, collectively these analysts believe the new iPhone 6c will include an A9 processor, but will not have all of the typical bells and whistles found on the higher end iPhone. The main feature that will not show up in this "lower end/smaller" iPhone will be Apple's new 3D Touch technology. Despite some stripped down features, one of the analysts believes the device will have a metal body, similar to the iPhone 5s, which happens to be the last iPhone to include a 4-inch display.
Of course, predicting what Apple will do (other than make tons of money) is basically a fun little game with little guaranteed payoff. To be clear, here at HQ, we find this rumor to be suspect, but it was still worth sharing, just in case...
