Most of this rumor seems plausible, but when you see the size of the display, it makes you think twice. According to the latest industry intel, Apple is working on an entirely new design for an iPhone in 2017, and this one will have a curved OLED 5.8-inch display.

While the idea that Apple will be using an OLED screen, or even including a curved design, doesn't seem far-fetched, the size of the display is what seems questionable. It took them years to decide to move to the current sizes of the iPhone and its Plus design sibling. Could they really jump all the way to a nearly 6-inch device in such a short time?

On top of that, this particular "analyst" has a spotty record on iPhone rumors. Despite that, it still could be true. Supposedly, using newer case design characteristics and shrinking technology sizes, a 5.8-inch smartphone could actually fit within the same (or smaller) dimensions as the current iPhone 6S Plus. That would be an impressive feat, but one we would like to see.

Here's what else, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had to say,

"We expect the 2017 new iPhone model to adopt a structural design similar to that of iPhone 4/ 4s, meaning it will be equipped with glass on both the front and back sides, and a metal frame surrounded the edges. The difference is that the new model will likely come with a curved screen and curved glass casing, with other important features including a 5.8-inch AMOLED display, wireless charging, and more biometric recognitions (facial or iris). Given the curved design, the new model may look smaller than an existing 5.5-inch iPhone."

What do you folks think? Will Apple follow Samsung's lead by offering a curved display phone, like the current two generations of Galaxy S phones?
