iPhone 6s Plus offered to replace faulty iPhone 6 Plus units.JPG

According to a report from MacRumors, from now until the end of March, Apple will be replacing damaged iPhone 6 Plus units with new iPhone 6s Plus units. The information comes via a leaked internal document that was sent to Apple Authorized Service Providers on Friday.

MacRumors says that it has confirmed the authenticity of the memo with several different sources. While there is no word from Apple about exactly why it is replacing faulty iPhone 6 Plus models with iPhone 6s Plus models, it’s possible that it has something to do with the current iPhone battery replacement scheme, which has led to a shortage of batteries for iPhones from iPhone 6 and later, with replacements not likely to become available until late March/early April.

Another very good reason could be that Apple had stopped manufacturing the iPhone 6 Plus, but has most likely had to start manufacturing the phones and batteries again, which takes a little while to set in motion, hence the delay.
