Apple iPhone 4 - Can you get this/do this?

I was wondering, can you get an app or somehow password lock certain apps?


An example would be putting a password on messages, phone, contacts and ipod?


Anyone know if this is possible?


I used to lock certain things on my old phones with a simple 4 digit passcode....

Yeh that would be kinda cool. Although it is much safer to just lock the phone itself.

Are you jailbroken? Get iprotect from cydia. You can lock applications of ur choice- msgs, facebook, ifile anything sensitive. You can even disable moving or deleting apps without a password!! Its exactly what you want.

First of all install iprotect. Get your device unlock code (copy it). Delete the app completely. Go back into cydia and search & install iprotect crack. This installs a keygen. Use the copied code to generate unlock key. Make a note of it. Now delete this and re-install iprotect. Your good to go!
I wld recomend you buy the app for $8.99 but i purchased it and never got emailed the key by the developer. Enjoy privacy

No, i am not jailbroken and do not intend on doing so


Its a shame really, my main reason is when you let younger kids play a game or something, you dont want it to end up ringing a whole load of people by accident who then start calloing you to find out why you called :S


Anyway, ill be on the look out for such an app, it exists for things like photo's and videos and text files but yeah would like it universal that works the same like old phones

Not yet but the developer of Lockdown Pro (just $1.99) promises it as a feature in future releases and its already spectacularly good

Ignore the YouTube result that says you can lock apps and folders with lockdown - it means apps

Hey Sarah. If you want your sister to be able to use some apps but be challenged with a request for a PIN number for certain other apps, your only option is to Jailbreak and install one of the various apps that offers this.

Have you jailbroken? If not, you'll find its free and easy to do and offers all sorts of privacy options.

The only privacy available to non-jailbroken iphone users is logging out of any app-store apps that have password protection and/or setting up a four digit lock on the phone itself, which you can do in "Settings".
