If you’ve been thinking of downgrading your newly installed iOS 7 software back to iOS 6, then according to SlashGear, it’s already too late for you to do so, as from the beginning of this week, Apple has ceased “signing” old restore points for iOS 6.

To explain further, prior to this week, if you had wanted to remove iOS 7 from your iPhone or iPad, you could have restored it back to version 6.1.3, which was, at that point, the last officially signed off version. SlashGear had previously explained how this was possible, back on September 20. The process was rather laborious, requiring you to download iOS restore points to your desktop from the “JustAPenguin” firmware site. Now, however, the only official version signed off by Apple is iOS 7, so that official method of reverting back to iOS 6 is lost to you.

For jailbreakers, SlashGear notes that the wait continues for a jailbreak for iOS 7, with various jailbreaking groups currently working hard to find a solution.
