App development for Newbies

Hi I need advise. I'm a newb looking to learn how to develop apps. I'm thinking about starting this course *no external linkshas* anyone tried this or perhaps something similar?

Been a software developer for 28 years. I went to the website and read everything. Snake oil salesmen told fewer lies than this. I wouldn't give them $2 much less $99. Anytime a company has to mark their product down from $599 to $99 should tell you how much it really is worth.
