Any way to update unlocked 3gs to 5.1.1 ?

You need to download a custom 5.1.1 IPSW and update with it. That will preserve your baseband.

Did you buy it from apple unlocked? Is it jailbroken?

How do you know to do it with sn0wbreeze with the baseband? How can you tell?

When you open it, select the 4.2.1 ipsw
Choose baseband preservation mode.

Have you done this before? Are there any issues when doing this like "no signal" or mms not functioning?
