Hey fellas.

Ive been using this phone for over 2 months with no issues.
However today I received a notification message when I checked the phone completely hung.
Luckily I remembered to click a screenshot button before I had to reboot the OS. Please have a look at the attached image.

The message is something like "V R watchin Ur every Moment by 3 Different Sources..". This is really freaky but I hope its not true. Is there a way some other device could communicate with mine and send a message?

I tried to look for similar cases online but no avail. Its not a notification from any of my applications (whatsapp/facebook) in fact if you check the screenshot it does not even show the application beside it.
Does anyone know how this is possible and is there any way I can check if there is any security hole in the device that allowed for something like this to pop up randomly.
Please help me out on what step should I take ahead.

I would take that to my provider and show them and see what they say and can find. I would think that they would have the ability to check that.

Have a good day,

Will do that. However I have nothing to show them except the screenshot cause the message/notification was not there after OS reboot.
Is there anything I can do to get some additional information from the phone by connecting it to the mac? Any log?

There won't be any log no. These are pretty much like Trojans but with less severity, in fact none. But I'd still take your screen shot to an app store and show them. See what they say, probably nothing but at least you've asked. Now you've rebooted you will have in fact removed this feature from your device.

How would the tojans get in the phone? I've not jail broken the phone. Could there be a security flaw in the OS itself?

No security flaw and like I said this type of security flash has no bearing in your phone. It can be done via emails sent to (let's put it this way - dodgy dealings) I.e there are a few websites that entice you into thinking your being emailed by a beautiful Russian lady with semi naked pics, you reply to this, they've gotcha. I'm not saying you've done this, but it works for various emails. Meeting people, casino, betting, friendships etc etc. maybe along the line you've replied somewhere. You've done the right thing by resetting your phone and now the security issue has gone. What hasn't gone is your email, so you could encounter it again. Pop into an app store and see if these so called "genius" staff can help out.

I will be going to the apple store near by to have a word with them about this.
I have not restored the device, it hung my OS and this is exactly how the phone looked before I had to reboot it by pressing the Home+lock key.
You think I should restore it from a backup or something that would have been safer?

No. The reboot will be sufficient as it's not the same as a pc Trojan at all just acts In the same way. By rebooting you have pushed it out.

I take it's not Find My iPhone? You can send someone a message using that. If someone is tracking your phone thru can message you through it. Just a thought.

Though this looks like a Notification, there is no app defined. Looks very strange.

I sent another message from Find my Iphone. It was not the same kind of notification, in fact it was not a notification at all. It shows up as an alarm/alert and does not come in the notification center.

This is the exact reason I posted the image. Wanted to figure out if anyone has seen such a blue dot against any notification.I have not found the time to go to the apple store but I dont think they will be of any help I have found better information off the internet than from people in the service center.Maybe I should just mail an apple representative that can forward my query to a technical head to figure this case out.

I have never had a notification like this before.
