Because of the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak around the globe, Apple was not able to present new devices during it’s usual March event. Instead, software engineering chief Craig Federighi presented the new iPad Pro and trackpad on the iPad.
WWDC 2019 will take place on June 3-7 this spring in San Jose, CA. Registration information was sent to registered developers earlier this week. The keynote will take place on the first day of the conference.
Pre-orders open up today for the new Apple iPhone XR. Apple began accepting pre-orders at 12:01am through its online store and the Apple Store App. The 6.1-inch iPhone XR is the third iPhone released in 2018, and the least expensive of the new devices. The iPhone XR features an LCD display with a resolution of 1792x828, a single-lens camera system, lesser water resistance, an aluminum frame, Haptic Touch, and LTE Advanced.
Happy Birthday iMac! Apple released the first iMac was on August 15 back in 1998. The iMac, which sold for $1,299 at launch featured a 233 - 700MHz PowerPC 750 G3 processor, 4GB of storage, a 15-inch CRT, a CD-ROM drive, and an ATI graphics card.
During the introduction, Jobs said "This is iMac. The whole thing is translucent. You can see into it. It's so cool"
The latest speculation about the upcoming flagship iPhone for the fall adds a couple of twists: support for the Apple Pencil stylus and a 512GB storage option. That's what TrendForce's prognosticators predict in a press release issued by the analyst firm. These new offerings could certainly be to compete with Samsung's recently released Galaxy Note 9 that offers stylus support, a 512GB configuration, plus a 6.5-inch OLED screen (the iPhone may have a 6.4-inch AMOLED).
