This year Apple is moving to an online only format for WWDC. It will take place starting on June 22nd. Registered developers will be able to participate online in presentations and workshops. The Keynote will be available for viewing by the general public.
iPhones and iPads can be hacked by using a bug found in the built in Mail app. An upcoming software update will also include a fix to that vulnerability.
Apple has already released a patch in the beta versions of 13.4.5. The official update will be released in a few weeks. If using a beta version is not possible, ZecOps, the security research firm that found the bug, recommends disabling Mail and using other apps until the update. Because of the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak around the globe, Apple was not able to present new devices during it’s usual March event. Instead, software engineering chief Craig Federighi presented the new iPad Pro and trackpad on the iPad.
WWDC 2019 will take place on June 3-7 this spring in San Jose, CA. Registration information was sent to registered developers earlier this week. The keynote will take place on the first day of the conference.
