My career in professional photography began in 1968. My clients included publishers, corporations, and institutions. I was a member of the American Society of Magazine Photographers. I served on its board of directors and became its executive director in 1988. Upon retiring from that role in 2002 I wrote four books about various aspects of the media photography business. In 2010 I became the president of Senior Artists Initiative, a nonprofit organization in Philadelphia that provides information to fine artists. Today my personal photography is focused on subjects like those displayed at my website: www.weisgrau.com
I focus on everyday scenes that people might pass by without noticing. My goal is to depict those scenes in a fashion that will hold a viewers interest.
"Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” – Dorothea Lange
