Worked briefly as electronic engineer and then as maths and physics teacher and lecturer, then switched to music (composer, conductor, flautist, teacher, lecturer). Director of Music, Morley College (London) 1969 – 1991. Senior Lecturer, Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester) 1991 – 1996.
