Try pulling it from the ear speaker (I've never done that) but when I opened my iPhone I took the bottom screws off and pulled up my screen from the very top and not from the bottom. I dont really think this will work, at least I tried :) Like-A-Boss

I think you should wait a little more while until the untether jailbreak for IOS 5 comes out, which will be pretty soon. Or you can downgrade to you previous version, like me, I updated to IOS 5 but it wasn't that awesome, so I downgraded to my previous version which can be untethered jailbroken...

OR if youre jailbroken you can download SBsettings (Which is free) and when you tap on "More" youll see a hide icons option in the systems options. Simple as that. Like-A-Boss
