after google i found no help. i currently acquired an i phone 3g running 3.1 with modem firmware 05.11.07. i have heard any 4.xx software doesnt play nice with iphone 3g. so how do i upgrade to 3.1.3? i tunes wants to update it to 4.2 i dont want tht, and im sure it wont preserve my baseband...

so once i download the 3.1.3 firmware how do i get it on my phone?

I had a jail broken iphone 4. but it was baseband 3.10.1 i think? which is not unlockable yet. i was strapped for money and sold the i4. i now acquired an iphone 3g for FREE running version 3.1 (7c144) with Modem firmware 5.11.07 which to my knowledge is unlockable and can be jail broken too...

hey guys im a new iphone 4 user, i am using 4.2.1 with modem firmware 03.10.01. i want to unlock the phone to use on another carrier other than att. how would i go about doing that? is jailbreaking the same as unlocking? thanks in advance guys!!
