YouTube Videos Slow to Load on public Wi-Fi

When I go to my local Starbucks or McDonalds and use their free Wi-Fi supplied by AT&T, YouTube videos are very slow to load and play. For example, a 3-minute video might take 10 minutes to load and start playing etc. This is using the standard YouTube app on my iPhone 4. When I turn-off Wi-Fi and use 3G, the same 3-minute video might start playing in a few seconds. Hmm. Note: I realize that a public Wi-Fi is a shared resource and the speed is dependent on other users. However, everything else seems load at normal speeds. It is just YouTube videos that are slow.

Previously, the solution was to go to Safari, and then go to YouTube from within Safari. Then everything would play at normal speeds. Now, however, YouTube videos will not play from within Safari due to the Adobe Flash Player issue.

Any ideas for a solution? Thanks.
