I have iPhone 5s (iOS 9.2.1) and a desktop Mac (OS 10.8.5).

I have recently set up iCloud on both devices. On the phone, I have installed the iCloud Drive app. On the Mac, I have moved a couple of files into iCloud, but I cannot find out — either in the iCloud app or in Safari — how to view them on the phone. Advice would be most welcome; thank you.

If you saved them from apps like Pages, Numbers or Keynotes:
Make sure they are enabled on your iPhone in Settings - iCloud - iCloud Drive.

In the iCloud Drive app, they have their own folder. Open the app on your iPhone, then select the folder (Pages, ...). The file should be visible there.

Thanks, J.A. On the phone the iCloud Drive app is working. But you may have noticed from my post that on my Mac I have OS 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion). I have now discovered that iCloud Drive does not work in that OS, and that is why I cannot see any of my Mac files on the phone via the iCloud Drive app.

I have now installed Pages and Numbers on my phone and can see my files in those apps.

Just wondering:
When you open iCloud Drive on your iPhone, do you see a Pages and a Numbers folder? Like this:

That's where you should be able to see your files as well.

No, what I see is shown in the attached screen-shot.
