AppleInsider reports that some iPhone 6s owners have been reporting problems with their AirPods when they are paired with that particular phone. Many user complaints can be found in a thread on Apple’s Support Communities. Some of those posting about the issue said that their AirPods are frequently dropping calls, some as often as once a minute. It seems to be primarily calls that are affected, as the majority of users on the support communities said that when podcasts or music were played through the AirPods the problem didn’t occur to the same degree.

The issue also seems to primarily be affecting the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. While there were a few users who said that they had also experienced the issue on their iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, others said that their previous problems with the AirPods cleared up when they upgraded to an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.

There were also varying reports as to whether being connected to an Apple Watch made the problem worse or not.

Apple Engineering has been informed of the issue by affected users. “We always examine service trends to see if there’s specific incompatibilities with our products, and we are aware of the complaints from a small proportion of iPhone 6 Plus owners. At this time there’s nothing to report,” an Apple spokesperson told AppleInsider.
