Unlocking without jailbreaking???

Just wondering how can I unlock my iPhone 3gs without jailbreaking it.

Only by contacting the network and asking them...

My phone came locked. I called Optus (Australia) and asked if they could unlock it. They unlocked it (which required a Restore on my end as well) for free.

If you're in the states and that's where you got your iPhone, it's not going to happen if you're with AT&T... Good luck!
