Twitter Launches Vine App

Twitter has today announced a new iOS app called Vine, which it says will enable you to “create and share beautiful, short looping videos.” On a post on the Vine blog, it says that the service, which has only just been acquired by Twitter, is a way of turning short videos into little windows on life, kind of like how Twitter is for words! According to the iTunes blurb (both the Twitter and Vine blog posts on the app are short on the details, kind of the point, I suppose!) the app enables you to post unlimited free videos to Vine, which you can then also share with your Twitter and Facebook pages, and they promise that more places to share with will be coming soon. You can also use the app to find, follow and interact with people that are close to you, as well as check out trending posts, hashtags and editor’s picks. Sounds a bit Instagram-y, will be interesting to see if it takes off.
