Thumbnails go Grey

When I take a picture it goes to the bottom left corner as a thumbnail but when I click the thumbnail the screen is grey.

If I go to Photos and click the thumbnail again it is grey.

Is this a problem with the phone or is it something in settings?

Try swiping the screen to the right. That should show the pic. It should show by tapping the thumbnail. Try a hard reset. Press both the top button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. Then release. Also delete all your background apps. Hope that works.
