The Useless Information Thread

"Schindler's List" wasn't supposed to be in English. Spielberg first thought of shooting it in Polish and German, and adding subtitles. He decided against it, because he wanted people to watch the images, not read subtitles. Subtitles would have taken away the importance of the images.
 
Spielberg wasn't ready to make "Schindler's List" himself. So he offered it to directors Roman Polanski and Sydney Pollack, both declined. Martin Scorsese accepted, and was set to put the film into production, when Spielberg realized he was prepared to make the movie. So he traded Scorsese the rights for "Cape Fear", to make up for the change of hearts.
