The Heist Cracks the App Store Code and Rakes in the Cash!

According to a report on TechCrunch today, The Heist game from MacHeist, has become an instant smash hit since it was released earlier in the week, and is already on the way to becoming an app store phenomenon. For starters, it’s already done the unthinkable and unseated Angry Birds from the top of the App Store charts, and according to TechCrunch, the game sold more than 25,000 copies in half a day on the day it was launched, and then sold 89,798 the next day, and is still going strong, having raked in $100,000 in just a couple of days.

Developed by tap tap tap, the game has most likely caught the public’s imagination initially because of the cult following of the MacHeist site, but clearly now the game’s appeal has reached far beyond that, attracting many fans who are simply after a great puzzle game, which it most certainly is.
