My bank took a long time to sign on, they kept pushing using their own app which is not the same but I suspect, they were hoping their app would take off and they wouldn’t have to pay Apple.

My bank has an own app as well, but it’s not possible to pay via app, afaik.

In the US a lot of banks’ apps do allow money transfers and payments. I remember reading that the banks and some stores objected to paying Apple’s fees and the inability to data mine. My bank even has a mobile app that uses Bluetooth from the iPhone to the ATM.
