Teen Time on Phone Monitoring

Does anyone know of a way to monitor the amount of time someone is on a phone? We cap our teens data and can monitor that way and we have house rules on phone use, but I wonder if there is a way to tell the amount of time the phone is active?

You can get an idea of the usage by looking at how much each App uses battery-wise under Battery Usage in Settings. It will tell you the amount of time expended on using each App.

In iOS 12 there will be a new feature in Settings called Screen Time. this will allow you to set time limits on app use, time away from the screen, privacy restrictions, and will monitor app usage time. You can set a Screen Time password and anyone without that password cannot change the Screen Time settings.
