Sync my iPhone 5S clock with the atomic clock

There’s a difference of 8 minutes (+ or -) between the time shown on my iPhone 5S and that shown on the new clock I just bought which sets itself to the atomic clock in Colorado. I’ve looked all over to find out how to sync the two but the best answer I got was that it couldn’t be done. I’m skeptical.

Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

I think the time on your iphone is set by your carrier. I do not think you can change that unless your carrier admits to having the wrong time. If I am wrong about this, the others here will know.
