Sound suddenly isn't working at all on my Iphone 4s

I have had it for 3 days and have not had a problem. Today I was in the car, had my headphones in and the sound wasn't working. Now the sound is completely gone. I can't hear calls (speaker phone or otherwise). No music, even with headphones. Siri can't hear me talk (the microphone doesnt register my voice) so my mic is out as well. I do not have it on mute. the sound is all the way up. The sound settings are all on. I have tried putting the headphones in and out of the device. I only used the headphones provided. Does anyone know whats wrong with it and how to fix it? I need it for work! Thanks, Ill take all the help i can get.

Oh and I should add that the phone just turns itself off whenever it pleases and can only be turned back on with rebooting (holding both buttons for a long period of time.) And its super hot and losing battery at a rate of about 1% a minute.
