Simple problem (probably)

Okay, I know this is a simple problem but before I take the time to research it I thought I'd post it here where someone can give me a quick answer and save me some time.

Occasionally, when I'm typing a post to a thread (and other times, I think) a grey bar will appear above my keyboard and in it will be words being suggested. It's happening as I type this. Sometimes one of these words gets entered into what I'm typing and happens to be inappropriate. Then I have to go back and delete it and enter the correct word.

I don't know what triggers this grey bar. Sometimes it appears and other times it doesn't. It's an annoyance to me and I'd like to block it somehow.

Just swipe down on the top part and it will disappear (collapse).
The reason it "bounce" into your phrase is probably you touch that suggestion, if not it will just let you type normally.

or, you can permanently turn it off by going to
Settings
General
Keyboard
and turn off the "Predictive" tab
