Should iphone owners get tablets using IOS?

We have 2 i-phone5. I am about to replace my desktop with a lap top or a tablet. Is there any reason to limit the search to devices running IOS?

I think this is too personal. I love my iPad for many reasons, but you will only know when you start using any of them. But consider buying a laptop. =]
