Apple to release iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus next year.JPG

According to a new report from Japanese Apple website Mac Otakara, via MacRumors today, Apple will release iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus models next year, including an all-new, all-red version alongside the current range of colours (Black, Jet Black, Gold, Rose Gold, and Silver).

Mac Otakara’s source says that the 2017 iPhone 7 models will have the same aluminum design as the current models, but will be updated with the faster A11 chip.

If this report proves to be true, it could mean that Apple is intending to release one high-end, all-glass-casing flagship model with OLED display and wireless charging, as has been widely rumoured by many good sources recently, alongside much more modestly upgraded “7s” and “7s Plus” models.

While it’s still far too early to be certain about any of these recent rumours, it’s certainly fair to say that Mac Otakara is a very credible, and often accurate, source, having previously correctly reported that Apple intended to remove the iPhone headphone jack and also introduce a Jet Black iPhone. However, it has also made some errors as well, such as predicting that Apple would be releasing a Jet White iPhone 7.

A 7S would be in line with their traditional product life cycle, but next year being the 10 year anniversary of the iPhone maybe they wanted to break tradition and do something over the top. Or not.
