AppleInsider reports that KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has issued a research note saying that all three of the new iPhone models expected to launch this year will still have Lightning ports, despite other recent rumours saying that they would be replaced by USB-C ports.

Kuo says that while Apple will indeed be using “Type-C Power Delivery” technology in the new phones, it will not be using USB-C ports instead of Lightning ports as The Wall Street Journal claimed this week.

Kuo says that he thinks Apple will be using Texas Instruments for the power management aspect of the new technology, and Cypress for the power delivery chips.

And as far as the flagship iPhone 8 is concerned, Kuo says that it may have faster charging than the other two models due to a 2-cell L-shaped battery pack.
