Hey everyone, I've been on this site before but never had an issue before to post about.
Well, that's not entirely true. I have an iPhone 4S,
Which I've had replaced before because
it suddenly stopped charging and iTunes
wouldn't recognize it at all. Now this is
my 2nd iPhone 4S in a row to do this to me.
I've had this one (my first replacement)
for about 3 months. I have service on it
thru Page Plus, which runs on Verizon's
network (13.0). I just got a replacement
4S shipped to me today, and I called Page
Plus to switch phones, and was told I
can't do so because of legalities with Apple.
So I called them back, and talked to someone
else, who was fine with switching it for me.
Only problem was that it wouldn't work at all.
I called the *22890 number to program it, and
it said "your phone has been successfully programmed."
I synced it with my iTunes, but it wouldn't work.
It showed my phone number under general in iTunes,
and my broken 4S stopped working. But
the new one kept searching for service or said "No Service,"
even though a notification popped up on my
iPhone screen saying my phone was activated.
So for now, it seems I'm stuck sending my broken
4S to Apple to fix it, so I can keep it on
Page Plus. Has anyone had this issue, or have any advice?
I really want a replacement 4S, instead of sending mine away
for a week or two, then waiting for it to be shipped back to me.
Another reason I'd prefer a new iPhone 4S, is that
when I updated to iOS 6, my battery life
decreased Drastically! Idk if I'm stuck here, and have no option
left but to send my new replacement back, then send my
old (current, the one that won't charge and iTunes won't recognize)
4S to Apple to be "fixed," so I can keep Page Plus on it.
I'm almost fed up with Apple, and about at the point where I
wanna say screw it, sell my 4S, and go buy an Android
that runs on Net10 or Straight Talk. I am
intensely annoyed right now. My current (broken) 4S
Does charge, but only when it's off, and it takes about
6-8hrs to fully charge from 20-30%. And iTunes
will Not recognize it, so that's a big issue. And
I can't leave my phone off for hours at a time, as I need
it on for ppl to contact me for work and whatnot. Anyone
have any advice, or is there anything else I can do,
short of sending my busted 4S to Apple and being without
a phone at all for however long it'll take? This
came at the worst possible time, as I'm about to
join a new, signed band, and Have To be in
contact with them quite a bit. Someone help! I'm
at the end of my rope and tired of iPhone 4S's
breaking down on me and running horribly on iOS 6!!
Thanks for any help or advice everyone!

Okay, so I called Apple, and they suggested that I erase everything from
My new phone, then set it up as a new iPhone instead of restoring it from my backup, then call Page Plus, and then restore from backup. I did, and all is well, working beautifully. The battery doesn't drain on this one either! So glad I have a properly functioning iPhone 4S again for the first time in months.

I have a 4s through verizon and I been thinking of going through page plus. Can you tell me how that works? Through activation and all that?

You can go to an authorized dealer (I went to Mobile Phone Pros at a mall) or to a dealer on the Internet can flash your phone and it'll be running on Page Plus in about an hour, tops. It's $55 a month, unlimited tall n text and 2GB of data, which is pretty much impossible to go over. Idk how it would work with porting your number. I think that takes a day or two. Your ESN/MEID have to be clean, as in not tied to a contract with anyone. So if you're on a Verizon plan with a contract, you'll have to buy out of it. It runs on Verizon's network, so everything is the same, except they don't support visual voicemail right now. I heard that Apple sued them and they're not allowed to put any new iPhones on Page Plus. Easy fix for that, just do Not tell them it's an iPhone. Even when they insist it is, tell them it's not, or they won't let you get on their service. It's saved me a ton of money and its exactly the same. Actually, I get better service with Page Plus than I did when I was on a Verizon plan.
