It's great as lockscreen. The app icons hide it's beauty when used as homescreen. Too bad!
I agree, I've been using solid color coordinated wallpapers for my homescreen lately.

My homescreens look more like a lockscreen. There's just a line of icons/folders at the top, and the dock bar at the bottom of every homescreen.
I like the minimalistic look also. I just haven't done the folder thing yet
