Offline Playback Helps Netflix Become Top Grossing US App

It seems that adding the long-awaited ability to download and watch content offline has done wonders for Netflix, which has now become even more popular since adding the feature, according to 9to5 Mac. So much so that it has now become the top grossing app in the US for the first time ever.

According to data from analytics company SensorTower, Netflix’s growth has been steady ever since it added a new feature whereby users could subscribe via its iOS app a little more than a year ago. It nearly made the number one spot in the Top Grossing chart last month, getting as far as number two, but it took it until this Monday to finally reach the pinnacle of number one on the Top Grossing chart in the US, India, Mexico, and Colombia.

As far as Netflix’s net revenue from in-app subscriptions is concerned, it has risen from less than $50,000 per week to nearly $2.9 million per week.
