My iPhone 4 has started making a beep!

My iPhone 4 has been making a beep and for the life of me I can't find the source. When I go into sounds the only thing I have checked is my phone ringer. Nothing else is checked. Any ideas? Thanks!

Probably an app, I found out google's app gmail will beep for you when you receive new mail but it doesn't actually deliver a notification that you can read so it's just a random noise

I have had a similar problem with my iPhone 5, also had it with my iPhone 4 ... I posted in the iPhone5 forum under the title "Cable causes acoustic beep, seems to short"

If any of us find the solution it would be great if we could let each other know. If I find a solution I'll look for similar postings and add my findings.
