Lost Service

This morning, I lost service on my iPhone. No Safari, no texts, no Google Maps, no App Store, etc. A message appeared saying something about no server. In a panic, I shut it down. Is that what is called re-boot? I powered-up and miraculously, the server was up and running. What happened? Why did I lose all service? As a new user, I was scared to death. Does this happen often? This never happened with my old Razr phone; I never lost all service.

Im from Australia and this happens to me regularly. Nothing to worry about its just the network has temporarily gone down. I did the same by shutting it off and then had signal again after that. Its a network issue and not the iphone

It happens, but is shouldn't happen often. If it does contact your network.

Usually turning airline mode on/off will reset the network...
