I really enjoyed the book. Did the movie not live up to the quality of the original story?

The story is a really good one, the movie, well it is the first end of humanity movie I couldn't even get behind the humans surviving.

The sad thing is I am afraid when I do read it I will have the movie characters in my head, making it hard to enjoy.

I had to look it up, looks like a cute and funny movie. It won a lot of awards also, too bad it isn't available from RedBox.
