Unless you have the jailbreak data available at hand and the iPod is in Pwned DFU mode, you cannot manually jailbreak your device. We have an assortment of guides that shows users how to jailbreak based on iOS versions here. As this is a question regarding jailbreaking, it has been moved to the Jailbreak-specific section.
Downloading packages or items is best done in their respective apps, either your browser, or through Cydia. vSSH and Terminal commands would only install official or pre-downloaded onto the device. The only package that's commonly downloaded using SSH or Terminal is the actual Cydia package for reinstalling and such
