Can someone please tell me how to not get all of my personal info synced on my laptop when I plug in my 4s. The older version of iTunes never did, which was good. I only want the music transferred

Go into "preferences" and then devices. Then deselect the option to sync automatically. Then once your phone is connected, you will have to pick and choose what you want synced
