Is it just me or are fingerprints MUCH less noticable on the 5?

I've noticed that my urge to wipe my screen down on my white iPhone 5 is much less than it was with the 4S. I even asked the guy at the Apple store tonight if Apple had improved the oleophobic coating or something. He said it may have something to do with the greatly decreased reflectivity.

Or maybe the coating wears off over time and getting a new phone simply restores the effectivity?

It still get smudges, they just don't seem as obvious as before.

They're always much less noticeable at first. Give it some time to build up a little oil... then you'll start seeing the smudges and prints.
