Is it just me ? Missing voicemail/texts, noy getting some calls

I have sprint iPhone 4s. My dad sys sometimes when he calls me it says this user has been disconnected which is obvs not true so what's the deal and I don't get the messages from when my phone was off or dead don't know if I'm supposed to or not
