iPhone X in short supply at launch due to production issues.JPG

According to AppleInsider, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has told investors today that due to various production challenges, Apple’s iPhone X, which is due to be announced by Apple tomorrow, “will remain in severe short supply for a while.” In fact, Kuo says that the current production rate is less than 10,000 units per day.

Kuo said that aside from general production problems, the new “blush” gold colour option has specific issues, meaning that it will be very hard to obtain at launch, and may even have a later on-sale date than the black and white colour options.

Kuo doesn’t think that Apple needs to worry about how many phones it will sell based on these delays, as he believes that it will still sell the same amount of phones, just a little bit later than planned.

Kuo also addressed concerns about how users will take to Face ID replacing Touch ID, saying, “Apple has to win over consumers by demoing a smooth-running, easy-to-use and secure feature.”
