Iphone music and earphones ?

Hi, is there any way to stop music from playing when the earphones are pulled out ?
Sometimes when I am out walking or at the gym, my earphones will come out by mistake and the music keeps playing and it's so annoying..
Any ideas on what I can do ?

Interesting....I just tested this theory by pulling my BOSE earbuds out, and my music stopped automatic on my Verizon iPhone 5s (iOS 7.0.6)

IPhone 4S with iOS 5.1.1 stops the player whether it is Apple's ear buds or aftermarket headphones, always has and just verified to still work that way.
